'Special K' is the steel and glass edifice we designed in the new Science and Technology Precinct at QUT Gardens Point.
It is with great excitement that we at Arden offer our congratulations to the staff, management and students, as well as the broader community, for the opening of the new Science and Technology Precinct of QUT Gardens Point.
We are proud of our involvement in this landmark development and wish to take this moment to thank LCPL for the opportunity to collaborate/partner on such a iconic project.
In this article, we visit the steel and glass edifice that is Stair 16…our 'Special K'. Sharing centre stage with QUT's 'The Cube', one of the world's largest digital interactive learning and display spaces, was never going to be easy. With function being as integral to the structure as form, Arden's design brief required an understated complementary staircase to the spectacular technology of the cube. Through the use of a practical, industrial aesthetic which also required inclusions of robotics display spaces and student lounge seating, the structure became an engineered monument to Science and Technology.
