Queensland Tennis Centre
Proportionally significant, powerful in design.

Designed as a statement and built to impress, clever use of structural steel and colour created this eye-catching staircase. The oxide red balustrade is strong, strong enough to resist the loadings of excited fans and the Australian hardwood treads are tough enough to withstand the crowds. The stair links the players rooms to the upper levels so we expect some of the world’s greatest stars to get as much pleasure out of these stairs as their Brisbane fans.
Stringer Construction: Commercial grade powdercoated steel folded tread plate free spanning mono-stringers engineered for crowd loads (MS1)
Treads: Pre-finished 45mm Spotted Gum right-angled tread/riser assemblies with rebated 50mm Latham ACS-50 “Sparkling Black” non-slip nosing strips.
Balustrade: Twin 65x12mm Dulux Manor Red powdercoated steel stanchions, Powdercoated 3mm folded sheet metal in-fill panels, Continuous 38.1mm CHS stainless steel handrail(FP1). Balustrade designed to resist crowd loadings.
