Da Vinci Precinct - Industrial Development Offices

Dramatic design of glass, steel and timber.

Da Vinci Precinct Project (2008) Boronia St, Brisbane Airport

Adding a spectacular element to the entry foyer was integral to the big picture. Using the stunning colourings of Spotted Gum treads to soften the industrial plate steel stringers; this open stair stretches through the expansive entry void. The uncomplicated glass balustrade system of stainless steel stanchions and toughened glass panels are barely evident leaving the observer to enjoy the stair above.

Stringer Construction: Commercial grade 16mm plate steel visual stringers painted with bridge paint (PS1)

Treads: Pre-finished select grade Spotted treads rebated over exposed tread plates and including 50mm Latham 493S “Sparkling Black” non-slip nosing strips

Balustrade: 50mm SHS satin stainless stanchions with clasp patch fittings supporting 8mm clear toughened glass in-fill balustrade(C4), and Continuous 38.1mm CHS stainless steel handrail.
