Big, black and fun, industrially kitsch, will never be subtle or blend, doesn’t play well with others.

AEGIS Corporate Offices Fit-out Project (2013) Gasworks, 76A Skyring Tce, Newstead

Trying to avoid a cliché industrial aesthetic, not a chance here…a brief embracing a feeling of used commercial functionality; machinery black finishes, bleached timber floors, and precision stainless highlights, angular mesh balustrades emphasise the edgy origins of what became a perfect floor connection industrial walkway.

Stringer Construction: Structural steel PFC stringers (P2)

Treads: Pre-finished custom tinted select grade Southern Beech treads, and landings with rebated 50mm DTAC Corduroy Hard Anodised Aluminium non-slip nosing strips.

Balustrade: Black painted mild steel 50x50mm angle frames bolted to stringer or floor tags use 40x3mm flat bar insert retainers to fix expanded mesh balustrade infill panels. The continuous custom fabricated 38.1mm CHS satin stainless steel handrail is welded to stainless steel tags fixed to the balustrade frames.
