Solidly contrasting steel on timber.

Abigroup Pty Ltd Corporate Offices Project (2008) Stanley St Plaza Redevelopment Southbank Parkland

The space required a thoughtful stair link to incorporate adjacent design elements with the desire for a strong geometric pattern. After consultation with Cox Raynor, the design methodology of bold geometric industrial stringers, cantilevered landings and classic timber lining broken by panels of glass and vertical timber battens was selected.

Stringer Construction: Commercial grade laser cut 16mm plate steel zigzag visual stringers painted with bridge paint (PS2)

Treads: Pre-finished select grade Blackbutt tread/riser assemblies with rebated 50mm Latham 493S “Sparkling Black” non-slip nosing strips

Balustrade: Integrated hidden balustrade framing lined with Victorian Ash veneer, Conventionally glazed 12mm clear toughened glass panels (G2), 65x12mm flat bar satin stainless steel wing stanchions with 38mm satin stainless steel through glass patch fittings supporting 12mm clear toughened glass in-fill balustrade(W4), and Continuous 38.1mm CHS stainless steel handrail.
